The 5th Corps of Military Police, in collaboration with the Sri Lanka Corps of Military Police Seva Vanitha Branch (SLCMP-SVB), conducted a donation programme at Apeksha Hospital, Maharagama, and a maternity aid initiative at the Regimental Headquarters of the SLCMP on 04th January 2025.
Mrs. Manisha Kothelawala, Chairperson of the SLCMP-SVB, attended the event as the Chief Guest.
During the programme, donations worth approximately Rs. 490,000.00, sponsored by Venerable Lindagala Ananda Thero, along with financial contributions of around Rs. 300,000.00 were provided to assist cancer patients.
Pregnant mothers serving under the Regimental Headquarters were provided with nutritious meals, nutritional supplements, and comprehensive kits, while lunch was also served. Members of the SLCMP-SVB personally assisted in serving meals and arranged entertainment by the Army Dance Troupe.
Further, Rs. 100,000.00 was donated to support Senior Non-Commissioned Officers with children battling cancer.
Senior members of the SLCMP-SVB, Senior Officers, Officer and Other Ranks participated in the event.
