Under the guidance of Major General Y.A.B.M Yahampath RWP RSP ndu psc, Commander of the Security Forces (Jaffna) and Colonel of the Regiment of the Sri Lanka Light Infantry (SLLI), and with the supervision of Mrs. Darshanee Yahampath, the Chairperson of the SLLI Seva Vanitha Branch (SLLI-SVB), a housing project has been initiated to support war heroes currently in active service, who have not completed the construction of their houses.
As part of the second phase of the project, the newly constructed house for Warrant Officer II K.M.N.B. Dissanayake was ceremonially declared open on 12th January 2025 by the Commanding Officer of the 17th Battalion, Sri Lanka Light Infantry (17 SLLI).
The financial assistance for this project was provided by the SLLI-SVB, while the 17 SLLI provided labour support to ensure the successful completion of the houses. Senior members of the SLLI-SVB, Senior Officers, Officers and Other Ranks participated in the event.
