Under the guidance of Mrs. Swendrini Rodrigo, the Chairperson of the Artillery Seva Vanitha Branch (SLA-SVB), a donation program for the children of Other Ranks in need was organized on 18 October 2024 at the 4th Artillery Regiment Auditorium.
Major General B.K.G.M.L Rodrigo RSP psc IG, Commandant of the Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force and Colonel Commandant of the SLA, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest.
During the programme, school bags, shoes, and stationery items were symbolically distributed to 30 children, with further distributions planned for an additional 70 children.
Financial contributions for this programme were provided by Gunners and philanthropists. The event included a tea gathering, the Gunners’ Kids’ Talent Show, and lunch.
Senior Officers, Officers, Other Ranks, and children participated in the programme.
