9 SLLI Constructs a New House for a Soldier

Under the guidance of Major General G.M.N Perera RWP RSP USP ndc, Quarter Master General and Colonel of the Regiment of Sri Lanka Light Infantry (SLLI), and under the supervision of the Chairperson of the SLLI Seva Vanitha Branch (SLLI – SVB), Mrs. Vajira Perera, the SLLI troops initiated a housing project on 06 July 2024.

As part of this initiative, 11 War Heroes were provided financial assistance by the SLLI – SVB, with workforce assistance from their respective Battalions. In the first phase, the newly constructed house of Lance Corporal P. Ruwan Chamara was formally opened by the Commanding Officer of the 9 SLLI. Senior Officers, Officers and Other Ranks were present at the occasion.
