Gajaba Seva Vanitha New Year Fair Successfully Conducted at Saliyapura

The Gajaba Seva Vanitha New Year Fair - 2024 was successfully held at the Gajaba Regimental Centre, Saliyapura, from 9 to 11 April 2024 under the guidance of the Colonel of the Regiment, Major General W.H.K.S Peiris RWP RSP VSV USP ndu and the Chairperson of the Gajaba Regiment Seva Vanitha Branch, Mrs. Dilupa Pieris.

The Commander of the Army, Lieutenant General Vikum Liyanage RWP RSP ndu, took some time off to attend the final day of the event as the chief guest, together with Mrs. Janaki Liyanage, the President of Army Seva Vanitha Unit. The Gajaba Seva Vanitha Fair was organized with an array of events, including a dog show by the Commando K9 Unit, motorcycle stunt exhibition by a team of the Corps of Military police, band display, air rifle shooting, and live musical shows featuring renowned vocalists.

A large number of civilians in and around the area, as well as military personnel, got the opportunity to purchase their household requirements prior to the New Year at concessionary rates from the fair. Furthermore, the musical events with performances by dancing troupes every evening entertained the crowd.
