The Sri Lanka Corps of Military Police Seva Vanitha Branch (SLCMP-SVB) organized a donation programme on 11 March 2024, coinciding with International Women's Day, under the guidance of Mrs. Priyanthika De Zoysa, the Chairperson of SLCMP-SVB.
Mrs. Janaki Liyanage, the President of the Army Seva Vanitha Unit (ASVU), graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. During the program, 13 women soldiers of SLCMP and 2 women civil employees, out of a selected group of 75 personnel, symbolically received essential dry ration packs.
Afterwards, Dr. Mahendra Ekanayake, a distinguished consultant physician at District Hospital, Wethara, and a certified trainer in the World Health Organization – South East Asia Regional Office (SEARO), delivered an excellent lecture on the theme, "Inspiring Women for the Maintenance of Good Health with Positive Character."
Towards the end, the Chairperson of SLCMP-SVB presented a special memento to the President of ASVU.
Senior Officers, Officers, Other Ranks, members of SLCMP-SVB, and Other Ranks were also present at the event.
