Mechanized Infantry Regiment Seva Vanitha Branch (MIR-SVB) awarded scholarships for 52 school children each worth of Rs. 16,000.00 at the Regimental Headquarters, Mechanized Infantry Regiment on Friday (29 December).
Mrs. Priyanga Wickramasinghe, the Chairperson, MIR-SVB graced the occasion as the Chief Guest together with Major General M.G.W.W.W.M.C.B Wickramasinghe RWP RSP ndu psc, Director General General Staff and Colonel Commandant, MIR.
Rs. 02 million worth electric wheelchair was also donated to Sergeant E.A.G Ekanayaka, severely injured War Hero while serving in the United Nations Multidimensional Integrated Stabilization Mission in Mali (MINUSMA) during the scholarship awarding ceremony.
Senior Officers, Officers, members of MIR-SVB, Other Ranks and civil servants participated in the community project.
