Members of the Special Forces Seva Vanitha Branch (SF-SVB) repeated their book donation project in the fourth consecutive year at the SF Regimental Center at Naula on the 23 December 2023.
Accordingly, books and stationeries, worth over Rs 3 million were donated for the use of children by the philanthropist, Mr. Madhawa Thenuwara. Troops distributed them among SF families and civil employees, attached to the Special Forces.
On an invitation of the Chairperson, SF-SVB, Mrs Anoja Peiris, Mr and Mrs Thenuwara and their family members were welcomed in a simple welcome pageant on arrival before the distribution of those books, accessories and stationeries took place. The invitees present at the occasion included spouses of Officers and Other Ranks.
Major General J.P. C Peiris RWP RSP ndc , the Colonel of the Regiment Special Forces and the General Officer Commanding 57 Infantry Division and Major General W.M.P. M Wijesooriya RWP RSP ndu along with several other Officers participated in the event.
