Creative Skills of Children in SLASC Families Rewarded

To coincide with the forthcoming Children’s Day, Mrs. Thushari Wanigasekara, Chairperson, Sri Lanka Army Service Corps Seva Vanitha Branch (SLASC -SVB) with her members organized an ‘Arts Competition - 2023’ in order to tap artistic skills of children in Army families serving the SLASC.

The project was supervised by the Commanding Officer, 2 (V) SLASC, Lieutenant Colonel R.A Udaratage, Mrs. Chandima Udaratage, Member of the SLASC-SVB where students in Grade 1-5, Grade 6-9, and Grade 10-13 contributed submitting more than 100 drawings of high quality.

It was held on Saturday (23 Sept) at the 2 (V) SLASC. Mrs. Thushari Wanigasekara graced the event as the Chief Guest. In appreciation of their participation, school bags and DSI gift vouchers were also awarded to each of them who submitted creative drawings for the competition.

Members of SLASC-SVB, Commanding Officer Lieutenant Colonel R.A Udaratage, Senior Officers, children, and their parents also actively participated in this event.
