Mrs. Priyanga Wickramasinghe, Chairperson of the Mechanized Infantry Regiment Seva Vanitha Branch (MIR-SVB) recently handed over a financial donation to one Corporal of the MIR who has twin children in response to a request made by the said Non-Commissioned Officer (NCO).
A monthly deposit of Rs 10,000/= facilitated by the MIR-SVB will accordingly be made to the NCO's bank account for a period of one year to support the upbringing of his newly born twins.
This financial assistance was provided upon the request of the Chairperson, MIR-SVB, and was made possible by donors, Mr. Gajith Rajapaksha and Mrs. Kosala Ranaweera, domiciled in Australia.
The Colonel of the Regiment of Mechanized Infantry Regiment, Major General M.G.W.W.W.M.C.B Wickramasinghe RWP RSP ndu psc, the Centre Commandant of Mechanized Infantry Regiment, Brigadier A.M.A Abeysinghe RWP RSP USP psc, the Vice President of MIR-SVB, Mrs. Nilanthi Wanasinghe, as well as Senior Officers, Officers, and other ranks of the Regiment attended the event.
