The new Chairperson of the Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment Seva Vanitha Branch (VIR-SVB), Mrs Himali Pussella assumed office on Wednesday (23 August) at the Seva Vanitha Office at the Regimental Centre.
A simple ceremony was organized to mark the occasion, giving priority to religious observances. Mrs Himali Pussella addressing the gathering made a brief description of the initiatives she wishes to implement during her tenure as the chairperson, VIR-SVB.
During the event, a financial donation worth Rs 30,000/- was made to a Corporal whose son is suffering from hearing impairment and requires medical treatment.
Meanwhile, a financial contribution of Rs. 30,000/- was extended to another Lance Corporal who needed to take electricity to his residence.
Senior Members of VIR-SVB, Senior Officers, Officers and Other Ranks participated in this event.
