Mrs. Kumudu Manage, Chairperson, Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment Seva Vanitha Branch (VIR-SVB) relinquished her office and handed over her duties on Friday (18 August) to the incoming new Chairperson during a brief arrangement at the Regimental Centre, Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment, Boyagane.
During the event, a financial contribution of Rs 30,000/= was awarded a Sergeant for use in the medical treatment for his son. Similarly, one more Sergeant whose home was ravaged by fire, leaving him without electricity received a financial grant of Rs 30,000/=.
In addition, a sum of Rs. 30,000/= was made available to another Lance Corporal whose daughter is under medical treatment. A donation of Rs. 10,000/= was also gifted to a civil employee at the same occasion for medical treatment.
Senior members, members of the Seva Vanitha Branch, Senior Officers and Officers participated in the event.
