Sri Lanka Army Women’s Corps Seva Vanitha Branch (SLAWC - SVB) ladies continued their welfare projects on account of the Sinhala and Tamil New Year by providing free spectacles to members of the civil staff serving the SLAWC Regimental Centre on Saturday (1 April).
During the programme, 23 civil employees with poor vision were provided those aids after they were examined for vision on an earlier occasion.
The donation was made to celebrate the birthday of Miss. Surangi Priyangika, the beloved wife of Mr. Jagath Pushpakumara who volunteered to sponsor the cost of those spectacles.
The occasion was attended by Mrs Shyamali Wijesekera, Chair Person SLAWC SVB along with all SVB members, Centre Commandant SLAWC, Commanding Officer of 1 SLAWC, all Officers and Other Ranks.
