The Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the Sri Lanka Army Women’s Corps Seva Vanitha Branch (SLAWC - SVB) was held on Wednesday (28 June) at the Regimental Centre, Corps of Engineer Services, Panagoda, headed by Mrs. Shyamali Wijesekera Chairperson SLAWC - SVB.
Major General U.D Wijesekera RWP RSP USP rcds psc, Colonel Commandant of the Sri Lanka Army Women’s Corps and Commander, Security Forces-East was also present as an invitee. The event commenced by reciting the Seva Vanitha anthem, followed by the keynote speech, delivered by the SLAWC Colonel Commandant.
During the meeting, matters pertaining to various welfare activities that were conducted and yet to be implemented for the benefit of war heroes and their families were extensively discussed.
Further, a short video clip that highlighted welfare projects, carried out by the SLAWC –SVU during the period of Mrs Shyamali Wijesekera since her taking over the duties as the Chairperson was screened afterwards. As a part of this event, fresh vegetable packs were also distributed among civil staff serving the SLAWC.
