SLAGSC Soldiers' Wives Learn About 'Self Employment'

A lecture on 'Empowerment of Self Employment' designed for spouses of Army soldiers of the Sri Lanka Army General Service Corps (SLAGSC) was delivered by Mr. Pasindu Rathnasekera, lecturer at University of Sri Jayawardenapura and Founder and CEO of Eclipse (Pvt) Ltd on 12th November 2022 at the invitation of the SLAGSC Seva Vanitha Branch.

It was held at the Regimental Lecture Hall with the participation of nearly 100 wives of the soldiers. The programme was initiated primarily to focus on the importance of 'Self Employment' as a benefit for the family and to the economy at large. The event was coordinated under the guidance of the President, SLAGSC Seva Vanitha Branch Mrs Ruvina Mettananda.

Accordingly, an interactive discussion that followed further enabled them to share their experiences and innovative notions.

The Colonel Commandant of SLAGSC Major General Chanaka Mettananda, Center Commandant of SLAGSC Colonel Piyal Samaraweera, Commanding Officers and Members of the SLAGSC-Seva Vanitha Branch participated at the event together with the wives of the soldiers.
