A group of members of the Sri Lanka Army General Service Corps Seva Vanitha Branch (SLAGSC-SVB) visited the ‘Abhimansala III’ Wellness Resort at Paangolla where around 35 dependent War Heroes are being cared for.
Mrs Ruvina Mettananda, Chairperson of SLAGSC Seva Vanitha Branch, Colonel Commandant of SLAGSC, Major General Chanaka Mettananda, Centre Commandant, Colonel Piyal Samaraweera, together with Seva Vanitha members, lady officers and several Senior Officers joined the visit, meant to inquire into the well-being of injured War Heroes and inquired into their well-being.
The event started with a ward visit by visitors where gifts were awarded to each and every one of them. The remainder of the programme followed a common tea and an entertaining session.
During the interaction with War Heroes, the SLAGSC-SVB Chairperson awarded gift packs containing essential items for their personal use. The uniqueness of the event was further enhanced with the donation of a set of musical instruments that can form a musical group among the War Heroes in ‘Abimansala III’, named “Brave Beats”.
