The Sri Lanka Electrical and Mechanical Engineers Seva Vanitha Unit (SLEME-SVU) recently conducted a few special programmes, including a Bodhi Pooja, a donation of school accessories and uniforms.
A Bodhi Pooja, conducted at Sri Daladaramaya, Saliyapura with the participation of Major General Indu Samarakoon, Colonel Commandant SLEME and Mrs Nandani Samarakoon, Chairperson, SLEME SVU blessed the SLEME, the Army and the country at large.
Similarly, the donation of school accessories and uniforms to 334 students for children of serving SLEME troops and civil staffers was held at the 5 SLEME Regimental HQ in Jayapura on Saturday (5).
Likewise, an electric wheelchair to a needy kid of a soldier's family, worth about Rs 280,000/= was also donated on the same day by the Colonel Commandant, SLEME as part of its welfare role.
