The Sri Lanka Electrical and Mechanical Engineers Seva Vanitha Unit (SLEME-SVU) organized a series of welfare programmes on 26 March 2022 at the Udawalawa SLEME workshop under the patronage of the SLEME-SVU Chairperson, Mrs Nandni Samarakoon.
Under this program, a donation of school accessories to 26 students who are serving at the SLEME workshop, Udawalawe took place.
In addition, a Warrant Officer of the SLEME on the same occasion received Rs 200,000/= and another Sergeant was given Rs. 350,000/= for completion of their partly-built houses under the second phase of the SLEME-SVU housing assistance for War Heroes.
Furthermore, a cornerstone was laid by Mrs Nandani Samarakoon in order to build a new house for an other rank who has retired and is living with his family.
The Commander Logistic Command and Colonel Commandant of SLEME Workshop, Major General Indu Samarakoon and several members of the SLEME-SVU were present during these events.
