The Sri Lanka Electrical and Mechanical Engineers Seva Vanitha Branch (SLEME-SVB) with the objective of raising funds for its welfare work staged a l musical entertainment, ‘Blue Bell Night - 2022’ on Tuesday (Dec 06) at Havelocks Sports Club Stadium amidst a large crowd of music fans.
The project was initiated according to a concept of Mrs Nandani Samarakoon, Chairperson of SLEME-SVB under the guidance of Mrs Janaki Liyanage, President, Army Seva Vanitha Unit (ASVU) with the intention of collecting funds for the SLEME-SVB and the ASVU to continue their community and welfare projects.
Popular and sensational “2 Forty 2” and “Daddy” bands backed the team of popular vocalists who attracted a large crowd to the location. Chairperson of SLEME-SVB and Major General Indu Samarakoon, Colonel Commandant, SLEME and Commander, Army Logistic Command attended the event as chief guests.
Meanwhile, the Chairperson of the SLEME-SVB handed over a sum of Rs 1 m to the President, ASVU as a donation to the ASVU as part of the earnings from the show, ‘Blue Bell Night’ on Monday (Jan 02) at the Army Headquarters.
