The Sri Lanka Army Medical Corps Seva Vanitha Branch (SLAMC-SVB) with the intention of encouraging children of Army families for higher studies granted five scholarships, each worth Rs 50,000 to five undergrads of Army personnel, payable throughout the year as incentives on Monday (12 June).
Mrs (Dr) Nilmini Fernando, Chairperson, SLAMC-SVB in collaboration with the SVB membership launched the project at the Army Hospital premises with the blessings of Major General P.A.C Fernando USP, Colonel Commandant of the Sri Lanka Army Medical Corps.
Moreover, children of Army personnel who are under economic hardships were also given packs of school accessories to continue their school education without any interruption.
Senior SVB members, Senior Officers, Officers, Other Ranks and children participated in this event.
