The Military Intelligence Corps Seva Vanitha Unit (MIC-SVU), coincident with the 29th anniversary commemoration of the MIC and its memorial ceremony in memory of fallen War Heroes, had its own parallel Seva Vanitha programme on Friday (21) at the School of Military Intelligence inside the MIC Regimental HQ premises at Karandeniya, Ambalangoda.
Mrs Sujeewa Nelson, President, Army Seva Vanitha Unit (ASVU) at the invitation of Mrs Manori Salley, Chairperson, MIC-SVU attended the programme as the Chief Guest.
On her arrival, Mrs Salley offering a bouquet of flowers welcomed the day’s Chief Guest and conducted her to the meeting venue. After an introduction, a documentary on the brief history of the MIC as well as projects that have been hitherto completed and are still in progress was screened before the audience, enabling the day’s Chief Guest to receive a glimpse of MIC-SVU roles.
Next, the day’s Chief Guest was invited to witness an assortment of the MIC Seva Vanitha Unit-produced mementos, oil varieties and cinnamon-based products that are saleable on display. Mrs Sujeewa Nelson, together with Mrs Salley closely watched those products and commended Seva Vanitha members for quality of those products and the production process.
Mrs Sujeewa Nelson’s presence at the location was made more memorable by inviting her to sit for a group photograph with members of the MIC SVU.
