The Gemunu Watch Seva Vanitha Unit (GW-SVU) undertaking one of the biggest welfare projects at Ragama ‘Ranaviru Sevana’ Rehabilitation Center renovated its Ward-2 completely and formally vested it in the authorities and differently able War Heroes receiving treatment on 10 July 2022.
The Chairperson, GW-SVU of the Seva Vanitha Unit of the Gemunu Watch, Mrs Ruwini Lamahewa with her executive board and Seva Vanitha members took the initiative in this regard and carried out the project with the active support of technically-qualified GW troops. The simple handover ceremony coincided with the offer of a delicious lunch plus gift parcels to those War Heroes under rehabilitation.
The event was attended by the GW-SVU Chairperson, Mrs Ruvini Lamahewa, Seva Vanitha ladies, Brigadier Janaka Withanarachchi, the Commandant at Ranaviru Sevana Rehabilitation Center, Brigadier Janaka Wimalarathna, the Center Commandant of the Gemunu Watch Regimental Center, Officers and Other Ranks.
At the same occasion, GW troops who did the renovation work were presented with letters of appreciation for a job well done by the Ranaviru Sevana Commandant before the gathering.
