Technical and manpower support of the Signallers and sponsorship provided by donors enabled the troops of 4th Regiment Sri Lanka Signal Corps to build a new house for a deserving fellow Signaller considering his prevailing need.
With the blessings of Major General Ashoka Peiris, Colonel Commandant of Sri Lanka Signal Corps and Chief Signal Officer of the Sri Lanka Army, the Chairperson of the Sri Lanka Signal Corps Seva Vanitha Unit (SLSC-SVU) Mrs Sajeewani Peiris under the supervision of former and present Commanding Officers of 4th Regiment Sri Lanka Signal Corps Lieutenant Colonel M.A.D.S Muthugala and Major R.D.R.M Fernando respectively took the initiative in erecting this new house.
On 10th March 2022 at the auspicious minute amid Buddhist religious observances and rites and rituals, the newly-constructed constructed house was vested in the deserving family living in Nochchiyagama in Anuradhapura District. Mr Dhanasiri Amarathunga and his family sponsored the cost of the entire house.
Senior SLSC officers, members of the Seva Vanitha unit of the Sri Lanka Signal Corps, Officers and Other Ranks of 4th Regiment Sri Lanka Signal Corps participated in the opening ceremony.
