The Sri Lanka Signal Corps Seva Vanitha Branch (SLSC-SVB) with the support of the Signal Brigade, SLSC Regimental HQ, all units, SLSC School and SLSC - Seva Vanitha Branches in SLSC Battalions contributed to the commemoration of the Sinhala and Tamil New Year by holding a New Year Trade Fair at the SLSC Regimental HQ play ground on Tuesday (11).
Mrs. Nalini Ratnayake, Chairperson, SLSC-SVB together with the Chief Signal Officer of the Army and Colonel Commandant of Sri Lanka Signal Corps Major General Sugath Ratnayake attended the inauguration of the fair as distinguished guests.
The trade fair, meant to sell New Year essentials at subsidized rate and collect funds for SLSC welfare roles had food items, clothes, plants, hand-made items and a large variety of New Year items.
The SLSC band ‘Waves’ throughout the fair provided music and entertainment to the amusement of the visitors.
In addition, 44 civil employees serving all SLSC formations were awarded special gift parcels containing dry rations and essentials on account of the New Year. Mrs. Nalini Ratnayake, Chairperson, SLSC-SVB and Chief Signal Officer of the Army and Colonel Commandant of Sri Lanka Signal Corps Major General Sugath Ratnayake joined the distribution.
Senior Officers, Officers and Other Ranks along with their family members participated in the arrangement.
