VIR Seva Vanitha Ladies Educate Army Personnel on Ayurvedic Medicine

The Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment - Seva Vanitha Unit (VIR-SVU), chaired by Mrs Kumudu Manage and Seva Vanitha members in collaboration with the Institute of Indigenous Medicine at University of Colombo held a workshop plus treatment centre in order to educate service personnel, civil employees and family members on indigenous (Ayurveda) medical practices and also to provide medical consultations.

The arrangement took place at the ‘Salute’ Multifunctional Hall inside the Vijayabahu Infantry Regimental Centre at Boyagane on 24 March 2022. Colonel of the Regiment, Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment, Major General S.U.M.N Manage who is also the Director General General Staff attended the inauguration of the project as the Chief Guest.

A total of over 200 personnel received medical assistance and learnt about medical practices during the arrangement.

A symbolic memento and service appreciation certificate was presented to the Director at the Institute of Indigenous Medicine and the team of Ayurvedic physicians by Mrs Kumudu Manage, Chairperson of the Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment - Seva Vanitha Unit in appreciation of their voluntary contribution to the arrangement.

Meanwhile, Seva Vanitha ladies during the same occasion awarded scholarships to 7 students of Army families who are also suffering from Thalassemia.
