25 students who performed well in the 2020 Grade 5 scholarship examination and the G.C.E(O/L) Examination enjoyed a memorable day when their achievements were rewarded during a special ceremony, organized by the Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment Seva Vanitha Branch (SLSR-SVB) on Sunday (28 May).
Following directives given by the Chairperson, SVB-SLSR Mrs. Omila Jayawrdena and with the patronage of the former Chairperson, SVB-SLSR, Mrs. Rani Jayathilaka, the ceremony was organized with the intention of appreciating and encouraging those future leaders of the country.
19 Grade 5 students who scored more than 170 marks received monetary donations. Moreover, 67 students from selected families were donated uniform materials and school shoes, amounting to 500,000/-.
Meanwhile, the wife of Parama Weera Vibhushanaya gallentry award recipient late Sergeant E.M Anura was awarded Rs 400,000/- on her request in order to facilitate the return of her daughter from overseas as she remained stranded in a foreign land.
