The Sri Lanka Engineers-Seva Vanitha Branch (SLE-SVB) with the objective of inquiring about the well-being of resident War Heroes at 'Abhimansala -1' wellness resort in Anuradhapura paid a visit to it on 27 March 2023.
The visit was coordinated by 8 Field Engineer Regiment. Mrs. Shammi Jayawardena, Chairperson, SLE-SVB and participating Seva Vanitha ladies had a cordial interaction with resident War Heroes, shared views with them and inquired about their well-being and the progress of the healing process.
Afterwards, all visitors with handicapped War Heroes enjoyed refreshments at the 'Abimansala -1' before a musical entertainment added variety to the occasion. On account of the forthcoming New Year, gift vouchers were also distributed by SVB ladies among the residents.
Colonel Commandant of the Corps of Sri Lanka Engineers Major General M.K Jayawardena, Commanding Officer of 8 SLE Major N L C Chandrajith SLE and Mrs. Sanjeewani Chandrajith also joined the occasion.
The ‘Abimansala -1' at Anuradhapura’, meant for permanently injured War Heroes is equipped with facilities to provide these severely injured soldiers with lifelong care, rehabilitation and recuperation.
