The Sri Lanka Armoured Corps Seva Vanitha Branch (SLAC-SVB) organized a simple ceremony to offer scholarships to selected school-going children of soldiers in an attempt to encourage and stimulate those students for their studies.
The ceremony headed by Dr (Mrs) Harshini Bothota, Chairpeson, SLAC-SVB was held at the Regimental Centre auditorium on 01 October 2022 to coincide with World Children’s Day.
The members of Armour Ladies Club sponsored seven scholarships, and as per the criteria, each recipient received a cheque of Rs 36,000/=, and Rs 60,000/= for their education, respectively.
Two scholarships were coordinated by the Chairperson, SLAC-SVB and other scholarships were sponsored by Mrs Samangka Fernando, Vice Chairperson, SLAC-SVB, Dr (Eng) Himali Niyangoda, Mrs Sanjeewani Peiris, Mrs Monika Amunugama and Mrs Wimali Ranwala.
