The Sri Lanka Signal Corps Seva Vanitha Branch (SLSC-SVB) launching a one more welfare project erected a new home for a deserving soldier in the 2 (V) SLSC who has been suffering from a permanent nerve damage in the spinal cord.
The financial support of the office of the Chief Signal Officer, Regimental Headquarters- SLSC and 2 (V) SLSC also joined hands with the SLSC-SVB for erection of this new home at Dalukana, Polonnaruwa.
Mrs Shashika Herath, former Chairperson, SLSC-SVB initiated the project during her tenure in the SLSC-SVB in November last year under the guidance of Mrs Janaki Liyanage, President, Army Seva Vanitha Unit. The keys of the new house were symbolically handed over to the family during a simple ceremony on Monday (Feb 27).
2 (V) SLSC troops contributed their technical expertise and manpower towards the construction of the new home under the close supervision of Major K.V.A Kodikara, Commanding Officer (CO), 2 (V) SLSC.
Mrs Shashika Herath graced the house-warming occasion as the chief guest with the CO, 2 (V) SLSC, Senior Officers, Officers, senior members of SLSC-SVB, Other Ranks, beneficiaries and several villagers.
