Mrs Mihiri Herath assumed office as the 14th Chairperson of the Corps of Sri Lanka Engineers Seva Vanitha Unit (SLE-SVU) during a simple ceremony, held at the Headquarters Corps of Sri Lanka Engineers on 29 December 2021.
On her arrival at the Corps Headquarters, the new chairperson was warmly welcomed by the senior members of the SLE-SVU.
Later on, Mrs Mihiri Herath assumed duties at her office amidst chanting of 'Seth Pirith' by members of the Maha Sangha. The new Chairperson afterwards shared her thoughts and presented her plans to promote the well-being of War heroes of the Corps.
Brigadier Manoj Madurapperuma, the Centre Commandant, Deputy Centre Commandant, Senior Officers, Staff Officers of the Regimental Headquarters and members of the Seva Vanitha Unit were present at the occasion.
The programme was held strictly in compliance with COVID 19 health guidelines.
