The Mechanized Infantry Regiment - Seva Vanitha Unit (MIR-SVU) on account of the Poson Poya Day (14) held a free eatery (Dansela) of Manioc at the Dambuluhalmillawewa Model School playground.
Over 500 kg of Manioc were cooked by the troops and distributed among devotees on that day as a community project in accordance with health guidelines.
Deputy Chief of Staff, Army Headquarters and Colonel of the Regiment, Major General Channa Weerasuriya and the President of Seva Vanitha unit, Mrs. Dhanusha Weerasuriya graced the occasion as Chief Guests and opened the distributing occasion.
The Centre Commandant, Brigadier Anura Abeysinghe and the Secretary of Seva Vanitha Unit Mrs. Swarnamali Ekanayake, Senior Members of Seva Vanitha Unit were also present at the event.
