The 15th Annual General Meeting of the Mechanized Infantry Regiment’s Seva Vanitha Branch (MIR-SVB) was held at the Mechanized Infantry Regiment HQ at Dehiappawa, Dambulla on 25 March 2023.
The newly-appointed Chairperson, MIR-SVB, Mrs. Himali Pussella was warmly welcomed by Mrs Dulka Herath, MIR-SVB Vice President and other Senior Executive Members. The event was ceremonially commenced by lighting the traditional oil lamp. Mrs Himali Pussella delivered the welcome note at the event.
In conformity with the customs, Mrs. Himali Pussella was appointed as the Chairperson, MIR-SVB Seva Vanitha Branch for the year 2023 while Mrs Dulka Herath as the deputy chairperson.
Mrs. Swarnamali Ekanayaka was appointed as the Secretary and all wives of incumbent Commanding Officers were appointed as project Officers.
In order to provide economic support, 48 children of MIR families were awarded essential school accessories on account of the AGM.
During the session, a fruitful and enthusiastic Culinary Demonstration was conducted by the Executive Chef, Mr. Nalinda Abeyrathne and his crew of Heritance Kandalama Hotel.
The Secretary, Mrs. Swarnamali Ekanayaka at the end thanked all the members of the Seva Vanitha Branch for their keen interest and valuable contribution towards the Regimental activities.
