About Us

INTRODUCTION

Under supervision & Intention of the Chief of Defence Staff and Commander of the Army all regiment centres established a Veteran Affairs Section. The Sri Lanka Signals Corps established Veteran Affairs Section on September 2020 to provide those various welfare facilities for signalers.

Veteran Affairs Section Coordinate the welfare of retired officers / other ranks and all welfare activities offered by the Army in relation to the next of kin of the deceased / missing persons.

RESPONSIBILITY

The primary responsibility of the Signals Veteran Affairs Section is to carry out welfare activities to uplift the living conditions of the relatives of the war heroes’ who have deceased in operations and Disabled War heros'

ROLE

The main role is to look after the welfare activities of the relatives of the war heroes who have deceased in operations and Disabled war heros and to uplift their living standards.

TASKS

    (Under mentioned requirements coordinating with Directorate of Veterans Affairs)

  • Responsible for welfare matters of the next of kin of Killed in action personnel and wounded in action personnel.
  • Coordinating the process of providing lands to Next of Kins (NOKs) of Killed in Action (KIA) and Wounded in Action (W1A) personnel.
  • Recording data related to welfare of Next of Kins of Killed in Action and Wounded in Action Officers/ Other Ranks.
  • Issuing ‘Virusara’ Privilege Cards for entitled Army personnel.
