The outgoing Colonel Commandant of Sri Lanka Army Women’s Corps Major General Prasanna Chandrasekere was honoured on 05 September 2020 at the regimental centre SLA at Panagoda with a formal farewell ceremony. The outgoing colonel commandant was warmly welcomed by the Centre Commandant SLAWC, Brigadier Janaka Rathnayake and was accorded with a guard Turnout, Guard of Honor and farewell dinner night by the officers and troops of SLAWC. The Center Commandant SLAWC, senior officers, officers and other ranks of SLAWC were present at the event.

Sri Lanka Army Womens Corps conducted a "Diners’ Club" programme on 8th July 2020 to coincide with the officers’ training day at the Sri Lanka Artillery Regiment Officers’ mess. The lecture was conducted by Veteran Personality Development Lecturer Mrs.Aruni Wickramage. All arrangements for the programme were facilitated by, The Centre Commandant of Sri Lanka Army Women’s’ Corps Brigadier Janaka Rathnayake on the guidance given by, The Colonel Commandant of Sri Lanka Army Women’s Corps and Master General Ordnance(MGO) Major General Prasanna Chandrasekere. The Director Training Brigadier Nishantha Herath and The Centre Commandant of Sri Lanka Artillery Regiment Brigadier Sumith Premala participated to the occasion as invitees. More than 90 officers were participated for the event.

Sri Lanka Army Women’s Corps Training School - Kaluaggala was officially opened by The Commander of Security Force Headquarters (WEST) and The Colonel of the Regiment, Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment Major General Jayantha Senevirathne on 31 July 2020. The opening ceremony was conducted under the guidance of the Colonel Commandant of Sri Lanka Army Women’s Corps and Master General Ordinance (MGO) Major General Prasanna Chandrasekere and The Center Commandant of Sri Lanka Army Women’s Corps Brigadier Janaka Rathnayake. Few senior and junior officers were participated for the event.

Mrs Sujeewa Nelson, President Army Seva Vanitha Unit as the Chief Guest on Wednesday (20) took part in the formal handover of the leased new accommodation building at Polhengoda for lady officers of Sri Lanka Army Women’s Corps with the sole intention of uplifting living standard of lady officers. The building accommodates 30 lady officers and is equipped with all facilities.
