SRI LANKA ARMY WOMENS CORPS SEVA VANITHA BRANCH CELEBRATES WORLD CHILDRENS DAY 2025

The Sri Lanka Army Women’s Corps Seva Vanitha Branch (SLAWC–SVB) organized a vibrant and meaningful programme to celebrate World Children’s Day 2025 on 4 October 2025 at the Defence Services School Auditorium, Colombo.

The event was graced by the Colonel Commandant of the Sri Lanka Army Women’s Corps, Major General H. H. K. S. S. Hewage RWP RSP USP Rcds psc, who attended as the Chief Guest. The programme was conducted under the guidance and supervision of Mrs. Sachetha Hewage, President of the Sri Lanka Army Women’s Corps Seva Vanitha Branch.

Nearly 75 children of Officers and Other Ranks serving in the SLAWC participated in the celebration, accompanied by their mothers. The atmosphere was filled with warmth and togetherness, reflecting the strong family values that complement the dedication and sacrifice of service personnel.

Each child received special gifts, bringing joy and excitement to the occasion. The cheerful smiles and laughter that filled the venue captured the true spirit of Children’s Day, making the event a memorable experience for all participants.

A highlight of the programme was an interactive and inspirational session conducted by Mr. Wasantha Moragoda and his team, “Act–Impact.” Their engaging activities focused on confidence building, parenting awareness, and essential life skills for children. The session offered both entertainment and valuable insights, leaving a lasting impression on parents and children alike.

Parents commended the initiative, noting that the event not only celebrated their children but also strengthened family bonds and provided practical knowledge to support their growth and wellbeing. of love, learning, and encouragement.
