SLAWC FELICITATED THEIR CENTRE COMMANDANT ON HIS PROMOTION MAJOR GENERAL J K R JAYAKODY RWP USP AT REGIMENTAL CENTRE

Major General J K R Jayakody RWP USP, Centre Commandant of the Sri Lanka Army Women’s Corps promoted to the rank of Major General after rendering a valuable service to the Sri Lanka Army as well as to the motherland was felicitated at the Regimental Centre Sri Lanka Women’s Corps Borella on 18 July 2024.

According to military traditions, Colonel B A T S K Basnayake RSP US IG, Deputy Centre Commandant RC SLAWC, welcomed the Chief Guest and invited him to review the Guard Turnout at the main entrance. Afterwards, a floral tribute was paid at the War Heroes Monument in memory of all valiant Other Ranks of the SLAWC who made the supreme sacrifice for the motherland.

After a while, he was accompanied to receive the salute of the Guard of Honour.

Later in the day, he has joined all ranks for refreshments where he shared a few thoughts with the attendees.

The event also textured with a Dinner Night hosted in honor of the newly promoted Major General Rohan Jayakody by all Officers at the Officers' Mess. A special memento was presented to Maj Gen Rohan Jayakody, by Major General S Katurimudali RSP ndc psc, General Officer Commanding of 56 Infantry Division and Colonel Commandant of Sri Lanka Army Women’s Corps in honour of the well-deserved promotion to the prestigious position of Major General during the occasion.
