WOMEN’S CORPS BOXERS SHOWED THEIR COLOURS IN THE INTER REGIMENT BOXING CHAMPIONSHIP-2022

The Closing Ceremony of the Inter Regiment Boxing Championship-2022 organized by the Army Boxing Committee was held on 20 September 2022 at Army Physical Training School, Panagoda.

15 Regimental teams including Sri Lanka Army Women’s Corps team competed in the four-day (Sep 14-20) long tournament. Women’s Corps boxers won the majority of medals in the women’s team category. Their achievements are as follows.

Trophies to the winners were awarded by the Chief Guest Lieutenant General Vikum Liyanage RWP RSP ndu Commander of the Army. Subsequently, Major General TJ Kodithuwakku RWP RSP ndu, The Chief of Staff and Major General DGS Senerath Yapa RWP RSP ndu The Commandant , Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force too joined the awarding of trophies an d certificates to the achievers.The Women’s Corps Soldiers consider it their great privilege and honour to have had fortune to receive their awards from the Commander of the Sri Lanka Army.
