On the guidelines given by the Commander of the Army, 20 Sri Lanka Army Women’s Corps (SLAWC) ladies who followed a 6 month-long course on ‘pre-childhood development and pre-school teaching’, received their diploma certificates during a graduation ceremony, held recently at the Army Headquarters.
The training programme got underway in collaboration with the Jayasekara Management Centre (JMC) under the coordination and supervision of the Army Directorate of Training. Major General M Mudannayake, Colonel Commandant, SLAWC provided guidelines for conduct of this course since the Army Seva Vanitha Unit-managed pre-schools would need their services in the long run due to their popularity.
Private G.W.C Madushani of 1 SLAWC, Private J.L.H.M Jayawardane of 7 SLAWC and Private J.M.E.N Jayasundara of 7 SLAWC emerged as the best of the best in the course.
Major General Suraj Bangsajayah, Director General Training, Colonel Training at the Directorate of Training, senior Officers, Commanding Officer, Regimental Centre SLAWC, ASVU ladies also gathered for the awarding ceremony.
