SRI LANKA ARMY WOMEN’S CORPS BID FAREWELL TO THE 24th OUTGOING COLONEL COMMANDANT

The Officers and Other Ranks of the Regimental Centre Sri Lanka Army Women’s Corps, arranged a series of events to convey their heartiest gratitude for the distinguished service rendered by the 24th Outgoing Colonel Commandant Major General M K U P Gunaratne RSP ndu psc IG on 18th April 2024 at the Regimental Centre, Sri Lanka Army Women’s Corps. The ceremonial formalities were commenced with a Guard Turnout, Guard of Honor, Laying of flower wreath to the SLAWC War Heroines Monument, All Ranks Tea and Troop Address.

The Centre Commandant of SLAWC Brigadier JKR Jayakody RWP USP On Behalf of the All Ranks of SLAWC presented a memento to the Outgoing Colonel Commandant as an appreciation of the valuable service rendered to the Sri Lanka Army Women’s Corps during the troop address.

Further Brigadier Rohan Jayakody, the Centre Commandant of SLAWC on behalf of all the Officers of SLAWC presented a special gift to Major General Prasanna Gunaratne as a token of appreciation for his yeoman’s service rendered to SLAWC.

And also, Maj HHH De Silva, Commanding Officer of 3(v)SLAWC presented the special gift to Mrs. Nayomi Gunaratne on behalf of all the members of SLAWC Seva Vanitha Branch, in order to convey heart-full gratitude for the service rendered as the President of SLAWC Seva Vanitha Branch.
