In an effort to boost morale, mental happiness and provide much-needed relaxation for all officers and other ranks serving under the regimental Centre Sri Lanka Army Women’s Corps and 1SLAWC, a ‘special musical programme was organized by the Sri Lanka Army Women’s Corps Seva Vanitha Branch on 11 November (Saturday evening) 2023 at regimental Centre premises Borella. The programme was initiated under the guidance of Major General U D Wijesekera RWP RSP USP rcds psc, Colonel Commandant SLAWC and Commander SLAVF with the concept and supervision of Mrs. Shyamali Wjesekera, The President of SLAWC Seva Vanitha Branch.
The musical show backed by the Sri Lanka Light Infantry beat group, together with the Sri Lanka Army dancing group mesmerized the audience in the presence of Maj Gen Darshana Wijesekera RWP RSP USP rcds psc Colonel Commandant of Sri Lanka Army Women’s Corps and Commandant Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force along with Mrs. Shyamali Wjesekera President of SLAWC Seva Vanitha Branch graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. The day’s Chief Guest Colonel Commandant and President of LAWC Seva Vanitha Branch were warmly received and welcomed by Centre Commandant SLAWC and Vice President of SLAWC Seva Vanitha Branch. During the musical evening, the Colonel Commandant and President of SLAWC Seva Vanitha Branch presented special gifts to the players of SLLI Band and members of Army Dancing Group. A large gathering of Officers, Other Ranks along with civil staff serving under the RC SLAWC were participated for the event.
