SLAWC OFFICERS’ TRAINING DAY – 2024

The Second quarter of the Officers’ Training Day - 2024 of SLAWC organized by the Regimental Centre Sri Lanka Army Women’s Corps was held on 14 August 2024 at the RC SLAWC - Borella with the participation of Senior Officers/Officers belong to the organization. It was conducted with the Direction and Guidance of Major General S Kasturimudali RSP ndc psc, the Colonel Commandant of Sri Lanka Army Women’s Corps and General Officer Commanding of 56 Infantry Division and the supervision of Brigadier PMS Karunaratne psc, the Commandant the Regimental Centre Sri Lanka Army Women’s Corps in order to enhance the general standard of regimentation, professionalism, development and cohesiveness of SLAWC Officers.

The day's proceedings commenced with a Zumba programme, Sword drill and lecture on “Mess Etiquette & Officering” by Major EMHC De Saram psc, Commanding Officer- 1SLAWC. Soon after the offering of a delicious lunch, Col MBBN Herath RSP SLAC, Director Media & Spokesman of Ministry of Defence delivered a useful lecture on “Military Women in Foreign Affairs and International Security”.

In order to mark the termination of the event, the Diners' Club was conducted on “Practical Aspects of Military Leadership” to enlighten the officer’s knowledge on the subject area by Maj Gen S Kasthurimudali RSP ndc psc, the Colonel Commandant of Sri Lanka Army Women’s Corps & General Officer Command of 56 Infantry Division. Further there was a Officers’ Get-together at Officers’ Mess of RC SLAWC as an entertainment event with musical session.
