Maj Gen UD Wijesekera RWP RSP USP rcds psc assumed duties as the 23rd Colonel Commandant of Sri Lanka Army Women’s Corps (SLAWC) ON 06th December 2022 during a simple ceremony, held at the SLAWC Regimental Headquarters, Borella.
Upon Maj Darshana Wijesekera’s arrival at the SLAWC Regimental Centre, Brigadier Chaminda Thibbotuge the Centre Commandant of SLAWC, warmly welcomed him. After a while amid chanting of Seth Pirith of Maha Sanga, the new Colonel Commandant signed an official document, signifying the acceptance of the new appointment.
The day’s program included All rank Tea, Troop address and a conference with the participation of all Staff Officers of Regimental Headquarters along with the commanding Officers.
At present Maj Gen UD Wijesekera RWP RSP USP rcds psc also holding the appointment as the General Officer Commanding of 54 Infantry Division. He has served a number of other senior key appointments in the capacities of operational, administrative and staff across the country after his enlistment to the Sri Lanka.
