Under the guidance of Major General UD Wijesekara RWP RSP USP rcds psc – Commander Security Forces (Mullative) and the Colonel Commandant of Sri Lanka Army Women’s Corps, the Commanding Officer along with all Officers and Other Ranks of 4(V) SLAWC organized a special program for celebration the International Women’s Day.
As the first segment of the day officers and soldiers of the battalion conducted a shramadana campaign. Thereafter a fruitful lecture was conducted by a senior medical officer of the Medical Corps on Breast Cancer. Lady officers and lady soldiers who are belongs to other regiments also participated for the programme.
Moreover, with the contribution of officers and other ranks in the battalion donated baby equipment to the pregnant mothers of Kilinochchi Hospital and distributed lunch packets to the low-income civilians of Kilinochchi town. International women’s day 2023 celebration came to an end with a colorful musical show to entertain the participants.
