INTERNATIONAL WOMEN’S DAY CELEBRATION AT 2ND VOLUNTEER BATTALION SRI LANKA ARMY WOMEN’S CORPS

Under the guidance of Major General UD Wijesekara RWP RSP USP rcds psc – Commander Security Forces (Mullative) and the Colonel Commandant of Sri Lanka Army Women’s Corps, the Commanding Officer along with all Officers and Other Ranks of 2(V) SLAWC organized a special programs for celebration the International Women’s Day.

As the first segment of the day, officers and soldiers of the battalion conducted a shramadana campaign at Kokeliya temple. Thereafter organized a Bodhi Pooja programme at Isinbassagala Temple Medawachchiya with the participation of all Officers, Other Ranks and Civil staff of 2(v) SLAWC and It was necessary to relax the mind and avoid monotony of duties to work under battalion.

Moreover, the Basketball tournament was held on 8th March 2023 at the Basketball court of Security Forces (Wanni) with the participation of two teams with Officers and Other Ranks. This tournament was held under the supervision of Lt Col JPAP Dharmadasa CR – Commanding Officer of 2nd Battalion Sri Lanka Army Women’s Corps.
