THE INTER BATTALION DRAMA COMPETITION OF WOMEN’S CORPS WAS HELD ON 31ST OCT. 2014 AT THE SLAC AUDITORIUM.
The Inter Battalion Drama Competition of Women$s Corps was held on 31st Oct. 2014 at the SLAC auditorium. Maj General UAB Medawela RSP USP ndu psc, Col Comdt SLAWC, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. The panel of judges was comprised of Mr.Wijerathna Pathiraja - Lecturer in Drama and theater of University of Colombo, State drama Sub Committee Member, Mr.Sugath Watagedara - Lecturer in University of Visual and performing Arts, Past additional director General Rupavahini Corperation and President of State drama Sub Commitee, Mrs. Chandani Senevirathne - Veteran tele drama actress.
7 dramas were nominated for the competition. "18th Birth Day" performed by 1 SLAWC won the award for the "Best Drama" Award for the Best costumes, Best supporting actress and Actress with special talents were also grabbed by the drama team. Pte Wickckrama AGMS and Pte Pahathkubura KM were awarded as the Best Supporting Actress and Actress with special talents respectively. Pte Pathirana PI, of 7 SLAWC was awarded the ‘Best Actress’
