Major General Darshana Wijesekera, Commander Security Forces- Mullativu and the Colonel Commandant of the Sri Lanka Army Women’s Corps conducted an official visit to the SLAWC battalions and the SLAWC Training School on 24, 27 and 28 March 2023.
The Colonel Commandant of SLAWC visited , the 5th Volunteer Battalion SLAWC in Welikanda, the 1st Battalion SLAWC in Borella and the Training School SLAWC in Kaluaggala during his official schedule.
Respective Commanding Officers of the battalions and the Chief Instructor of SLAWC training school welcomed the visiting Colonel Commandant with the honour according to the military traditions and briefed the functioning of the battalions and the training school administratively.
Meantime, Major General Darshana Wijesekera briefed his vision to the Commanding Officers and advice necessary instructions pertaining to the training, discipline, security concern and nations building for uplifting the battalions and maintaining the training school standard in all aspects.
In another gesture during the visit, Colonel Commandant marked the opening of newly constructed Sewing Shop at the 1SLAWC with the invitation of Commanding Officer.
Brigadier Rohan Jayakodi, Centre Commandant SLAWC, Colonel (A), Grade I Staff Officers, Regimental Adjutant and Regimental Sergeant Major RC SLAWC attended the visits.
