The Sri Lanka Army Women’s Corps Seva Vanitha Branch (SLAWC-SVB) made another humanitarian intervention by extending the helping hand for the children of Urani Kanishta Vidyalayam in Kankasanthurei on 10th January 2023 by distributing necessary school items. Further, there was a distribution of dry ration packs and school items for the civilian staff members and their kids of 7th Battalion of Sri Lanka Army Women’s Corps.
Under the guidance of the President of the Sri Lanka Army Women’s Corps Seva Vanitha Branch, Mrs. Shyamali Wijesekera, The Commanding Officer along with all officers and Other Ranks of 7th Battalion of Sri Lanka Army Women’s Corps organized the event.
The donation was made with the intention of providing a relief to the families of those children which the books are inaccessible because of their meagre purchasing power which is sometimes perhaps not even sufficient to pay for their basic needs like food and shelter.
The occasion was graced by the President of the Sri Lanka Army Women’s Corps Seva Vanitha Branch, Mrs. Shyamali Wijesekera and The Commanding Officer of 7 Battalion of Sri Lanka Army Women’s Corps ,Lt Col GRAIMK Gamlath RSP USP psc, Officers, Other Ranks, The Principle along with the staff and the parents of children also participated in the event.
