CERAMONIAL INAUGURATION OF THE NEW OFFICE COMPLEX AND THE OFFICERS’ MESS OF 7TH SRI LANKA ARMY WOMEN’S CORPS

Opening another new chapter in Sri Lanka Army Women’s Corps history the new office complex and the Officers’ Mess of 7th Battalion of Sri Lanka Army Women’s Corps was declared open by Chief of Defense Staff and Commander of the Army General Shavendra Silva WWV RWP RSP VSV USP ndc psc Mphil on 3rd October 2021 at Vasuvillan, Palaly.

The Commander of the Army together with the Commander Security Force Jaffna Maj Gen Jagath Kodithuwakku, the Colonel Commandant of SLAWC Maj Gen Champaka Ranasinghe , the Centre Commandant of SLAWC Brig Chaminda Thibbotuge and the Commanding Officer of 7SLAWC Lt Col Indika Gamlath unveiled a plaques and warmed both buildings amidst religious blessings.

The new office complex and the Officers’ Mess remained a long felt need of the 7 SLAWC after the battalion was moved to Vasuvilan, Palaly. This project was launched with the blessings and guidance of the Commander, Security Force Jaffna along with the Colonel Commandant and the Centre Commandant of SLAWC. The ceremony was planned with fully fledged lists of events under the health guidelines to prevent Covid 19.
