The awarding ceremony of the Inter Battalion Drill Competition – 2024 of the Sri Lanka Army Women’s Corps was conducted at Training School of Sri Lanka Army Women’s Corps - Kaluaggala on 14 June 2024 under the guidance and instructions of the Major General Senaka Kasturimudali RSP ndc psc, General Officer Commanding of 56 Infantry Division and the Colonel Commandant of the Sri Lanka Army Women’s Corps .
Brigadier JKR Jayakody RWP USP, Centre Commandant SLAWC attended as the Chief Guest for the awarding ceremony. The Competition was conducted with the participation of four drill platoons by representing 1SLAWC,7SLAWC, 2(v)SLAWC and 3(v)SLAWC.
Displaying tremendous overall performances, 1SLAWC drill squad emerged as the Champions in the Inter Battalion Drill Competition-2024. Capt Madhuka Thennakoon of 1SLAWC clinched the Best Platoon Commander award and the Staff Seargent Dharmini N of 7SLAWC won the Best Drill Instructor Award for their outstanding performances.
Further, Senior Officers, Officers of RC SLAWC along with other officers and other ranks from other respective battalions also were participated for the event.
