1st Battalion Sri Lanka Army Women's Corps Celebrates 44th Anniversary

The 1st Battalion Sri Lanka Army Women's Corps proudly marked its 44th anniversary on 1st September 2023, with a series of commendable initiatives. Under the guidance of Commanding Officer Major TTKK Fernando psc SLAWC, the anniversary celebrations were a testament to the commitment and dedication of the Corps.

Blood Donation Drive: As a noble act of service to the community, a blood donation drive was organized in collaboration with the medical staff at the Narahenpita Blood Bank on 15th August 2023. This benevolent effort aimed to benefit patients in Borella and witnessed the participation of over 80 donors, including officers and other ranks from both the Regimental Centre Sri Lanka Army Women's Corps and the 1st Battalion Sri Lanka Army Women's Corps.

Religious Blessings : On 26th August 2023, the Corps sought blessings at the serene Anagarika Mahanama Asapuwa in Udupila, further emphasizing the Corps' commitment to spiritual well-being.

Anniversary Day Celebrations: On 1st September 2023, by military traditions, Commanding Officer Major TTKK Fernando psc SLAWC graced the anniversary day's celebrations. Her arrival was marked by a Guard Turnout, and the battalion parade paid her a respectful salute, a poignant symbol of the Corps' discipline and respect.

Coastal Cleanup: On 7th September 2023, the 1st Battalion Sri Lanka Army Women's Corps organized a coastal cleanup at the Dehiwala coastal area. Officers and other ranks joined hands in this environmental initiative, showcasing the Corps' commitment to a cleaner and greener Sri Lanka.

All Ranks Get-Together: The memorable 44th anniversary celebrations culminated with an All Ranks Get-Together at "The Hide" in Minneriya, fostering camaraderie and camaraderie among the dedicated members of the 1st Battalion Sri Lanka Army Women's Corps.
